In Arabic the traditional curved sword is called "saif". "The sword"
is "As saif".

The Prophet Mahommad's sword (Peace be upon him) is known as "Diya al
Din - Brightness of the faith.", although some use the expression "Dsu
'l-fikar". The curved dagger is called dshanbye

Thank you as always for the opportunity to marvel at your stunning
ignorance.

For a moment, just a moment, I thought you were writing in some obscure form
of Gaelic from the South of Ireland.
