Up the Uighers.

Blast those imperialist Han bastards to smithereens. Their red army
is almost as bad as the RUC.

Courage lifts the limits forced upon a nation.

Free Tibet and boycott the disgraceful shambles awaiting viewing
idiots of the Olympics in China. Torture and domination will never
fully penetrate determined people.

Simply look at Oglaigh na h-Eireann.

Go on you Uighers!

Yes, but they lost. That's hardly encouraging news for a resistance
movement.

One of the details that impresses people when offering support to
dissidents in other countries is being able to spell their name
correctly. The Uigars will be very impressed to read that they are
getting support from some group called the Oirish(sp?) No doubt many
will wonder who this Erin is that you're ogling. They will be asking,
"Does she have big knockers?"

Culturally, Uigars have much in common with Ireland as may be seen in
these phrases (Uigars speak a Turkish language with some Persian
input) .

Ata-aningiz ixlemdu?
Do your parents work?

Amma ishleydu; Dadam apam öyde.
My mother works. My father stays at home.

My feeling is that Uigar refugees will fit into Irish society like a
glove, especially as Guinness tastes very much like fermented mare's
milk that has turned sour.

Uigar society is also very progressive and many scientific advances
have been made which may help Ireland's leap into the 20th century,
such as the recent discovery of gravity, enshrined in the phrase:
"Asmangha tükürseng, yüzünge qüxer." (If you spit into the sky, it'll
drop onto your face.)

To show you how much you and the Uigars have in common, consider this
proverb:

"Eti ulugh, supurisi khurukh". (Long on words, short on deeds.) Now is
that Irish or isn't it?
